Esimene Haapsalu. My first Haapsalu shawl

Raamiga oleks palju kergem olnud.

Lõngaks on 2 aastat tagasi Karnaluksist ostetud peenvillane pitsilõng.

It took me long-long time to finish this shawl. I see from Ravelry that I cast it on on August 25th 2015. So it took me more than 2 years. When I started to knit this shawl, I decided to do it "by the book", this means knitting border lace separately and sewing it later on. I was knitting the shawl in between of other projects when I didn't have any other ideas what to knit. That's the reason why it took so long.

The hardest part was actually the blocking. Traditionally special wooden frames are used for that but I didn't have such things. So I used heavier yarn which I pulled through the tips of the lace border and then attached with pins to the carpet to dry. It would have been much easier with the frame.

The yarn I used is special lace yarn bought from Estonia. It didn't have any label on it, so I have no idea who is the manufacturer. I used 3.5 mm needles.

I'm very pleased with the result, although I don't think I will knit another Haapsalu shawl anytime soon.
