Öösinine. Midnight blue

The first and last time I crocheted myself a garment was in middle school. The idea to crochet myself a cardigan was in my mind for some time already. The only thing holding me back was the fair that the finished garment will be stiff. Finally I decided to use lace-weight merino yarn and it was totally worth it. The cardigan feels really soft. It will not be my last crochet cardigan.

Sokid isetriipuva lõnga jaoks. Socks to show off your self-striping yarn

Sügisel ostsin Freiburgist toreda erksavärvilise sokilõnga. Lõng ootas terve pika talve ühte toredat mõtet. Ja siis mõte tuli. Lühemate värvivaheldustega lõngaga jääb efekt tõenäoliselt veel toredam. Kirjutasin õpetuse inglise keeles ka üles. Mustri nimeks sai Schönegg, sest just nii on selle tänava nimi, kus ma kord nädalas kohvikus šveitsi kudujatega kokku saan. Need sokid valmisid suures osas nendel kuduõhtutel. Vardad 2.25 mm, lõng Rico Design Superba Stripy (kulus 62 grammi).

Muster on saadaval siin: Schönegg

I bought this nice colorful sock yarn already in autumn during my trip to Freiburg. It waited the whole winter for a good idea and then the idea finally came. With shorter color changes the effect would be even greater. I wrote down the instructions and named the pattern Schönegg. Once a week I meet other knitters here in Zürich and the cafe where we meet is located on Schöneggplatz. These socks were mainly knit during those cozy evenings.

Pastelsed triibud. Pastel stripes

Selle kampsuni kudusin isetriibutuvast sokilõngast (Opal Blütenbracht). Blütenbracht on sokilõnga seeria, kus tootja on püüdnud erinevaid lilleväljade värve tabada.

This sweater is made from self-striping sock yarn (Opal Blütenbracht). Blütenbracht is a sock yarn series where the manufacturer has tried to copy the colors of flower fields. This tone is called Männertreu which means lobelia.

The color changes of this yarn are fairly long so even the sweater looks nicely striped. I made basic bottom up raglan. At first I was worried a little bit that the wideness of stripes will be very different on body and on sleeves and how is it going to look like. In the finished sweater I actually like that the stripes look different. Another this that worried me was the part where body and sleeves are joined. The number of stitches gets very big in a round and therefore the stripes become very narrow. I used purl stitch rounds to cover that effect and switched back to stockinette when the rounds got shorter. I didn't want to have just one wide purled stripe, therefore I made some additional purled rounds here and there.

In total I used 287 grams of yarn, needles 3 mm (for ribbing) and 3.5 mm.

Lumehelbed kuuseokstel. Snowflakes on a fir tree

Selle aasta esimene lõpetatud kudum on teie ees! Alguse said need sõrmikud tegelikult küll juba 2016. aastal. Allolevalt pildilt on näha, et modell muutus sessiooni ajal veidi vallatuks.

This year's first finished project is here. Actually I started those gloves already in 2016. I didn't use any pattern, just chose some simple colorwork motifs and improvised while knitting. On a photo below you can see that the model started to enjoy the photo shoot.

Kasutasin meriinovillaseid lõngasid. Valge on Lana Cervinia Merino Superfine, roheline on Idena Bambino Ull, mille värvisin roheliseks punaste kressiõitega. Kokku kulus 66 grammi lõnga, vardad olid 2.5 mm.

I used merino wool. White is Lana Cervinia Merino Superfine, green is Idena Bambino Ull which I dyed green using red monks cress blossoms. In total I used 66 grams of yarn, needles 2.5 mm.

Mütsi õpetus saadaval! Hat pattern available!

Eelmises postituses nähtud mütsi muster on nüüd ingliskeelsena saadaval. Link.

The hat I showed in the previous post is now available as a pattern. Here is the link

It is a perfect hat for using up your sport-weight leftovers. You don't have to stick to two colors only. It's easy to adapt the pattern for more colors. Let your fantasy fly! Also, stranded hat are very practical for winter. Stranded knitting creates this extra layer that keeps your head really warm.

Have a great knitting!

Täpid. Dots

Mul on eriline nõrkus halli värvi vastu ning mul puudus garderoobist hall müts. Lõngakorvis olid mõned jäägid, millest kokku sai selline müts. Lõngadeks on Drops Alpaca (tumedam) ning Schahenmayr Soft Mix (heledam). Vardad 3 mm (sooniku jaoks) ja 4 mm.

I have special relationship with grey color - I just really like it. I didn't have a grey hat in my wardrobe and I had some grey leftovers in my stash. Result is here. Yarns that I used were Drops Alpaca (darker) and Schahenmayr Soft Mix (lighter). Needles 3 mm (for the ribbing) and 4 mm.

Lõheroosad lehed. Salmon pink leaves

After finishing the sweater I showed in the last post, I wanted to make something small and quick. I think I could never have too much gloves because they also wear out quite often. I had this salmon pink alpaca and wool mix in my stash and when I saw these mitts on Ravelry, the decision was made. The original pattern is for mitts and not for gloves but it's not hard to adjust it.

Lõng / yarn: Bergère de France Lima, 50 g
